Miniature Siberian Huskies

When researching dogs, people often view multiple breeds for information concerning their size,
personality and requirements. Among the most researched and well-known dogs is the Siberian husky. A medium-sized dog, the Siberian husky has a recognizable appearance and a lovable personality. A miniature Siberian husky is a special breed that shares many of the same features as a normal husky despite its diminutive size.
Definition
The miniature husky is a special breed and is a descendant of Alaskan and Siberian huskies. Due to its physical appearance, the miniature husky is often confused with the Alaskan Klee Kia husky breed. However, the miniature husky is more closely related to the Siberian husky and shares many qualities with them. In fact, the miniature size is a genetic mutation that naturally occurs in the Siberian husky breed. Through selective breeding, breeders have been able to increase the miniature husky population.
Physical Features
A female miniature Siberian husky has a physical appearance that is similar to a regular sized husky. The dog has a furry body with a dense undercoat and a straight, smooth outer coat. Its coat will be a mixture of black and pure white. The husky’s head will have multiple markings to create patterns not seen in other dog breeds. According to The American Kennel Club, the husky has a keen but friendly expression.
Temperament
The miniature husky will possess the same temperament and personality as a normal Siberian husky. The dog will be friendly and gentle to friends and strangers. It is an alert and outgoing dog that does not make a good guard dog. The husky is also known for its willingness to work and large endurance. Like any other dogs, the husky requires daily exercise. Size and Dietsible.
According to the AKC, normal female Siberian huskies will weigh between 35 to 50 pounds. Miniature female huskies will weigh less than 35 pounds. According to Siberian Husky Guide, the miniature husky’s diet should consist of food that is high in fat and proteins, but is low in carbohydrates. Human food is not suitable for the husky, as their digestive system is unable to metabolize the food. Instead, premium dog food that is designed for performance should be a suitable choice for the miniature husky.
